Job description:

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end implementation, including initial concept design, coding, unit testing and release to production
  • Reliable message handling with thousands of clients over persistent TCP connections
  • Horizontal scaling and auto-healing/failover
  • Persistence to a SQL database
  • Persistence to an eventually-consistent highly-available NOSQL database
  • Real time and offline data processing and analytics
  • Building Restful APIs
  • Monitoring and Administration
  • Logging
  • Interfacing with third-party services and libraries

Qualification and Skills Required

  • Have 10+ years of hands-on server-side Java development
  • Have strong general programming and problem solving skills (language independent)
  • Have built highly-available, horizontally-scalable, testable, monitor able server infrastructure. Strong knowledge of threading and concurrency
  • Collaborate and discuss engineering architecture
  • Care about system reliability and code quality
  • Dig through source code other people wrote to fix problems no matter what
  • Experience in any of the following languages and frameworks (the more the better): Hadoop, Esper, OLAP, BI tools – Tableau/SiSense, HTML/CSS/Java script, Backbone, Node.js
  • Experience in scaling and tuning both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience of working with some of the following – SaaS, virtualization, database architecture, and network engineering
