Offering Modules Focusing on New Age Skills

According to CBSE’s circular to schools, the board has listed 33 subjects: artificial intelligence, financial literacy, coding, data science, augmented reality, Kashmiri embroidery, application of satellites, humanity, and Covid-19. These modules would be 12-15 hours, and schools have been told that 70 percent of the duration for these subjects must be devoted to hands-on activities and 30 percent to theory.

No Fee for Introducing Skill Modules

Moreover, affiliated schools will not have to pay any fee to CBSE for introducing any Skill Module. The board has taken the initiative to ensure that schools do not face any financial burden while teaching these new-age subjects.

Promoting Mathematics and Computational Thinking

The policy recognizes that mathematics and mathematical thinking will be essential for India’s future and its leadership role in future fields and professions involving artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, etc. Thus, mathematics and computational thinking will be emphasized more throughout the school years, starting with the foundational stage through various innovative methods.
