Let’s just say that 2025 is going to be the year of AI Agents! With so much happening in the AI space, the role of AI in our daily life is only going to increase hereon. If you have been following the updates of CES 2025 – you will surely agree with me. In the keynote session at CES, Jensen Huan made a striking prediction: “The IT department of every company is going to be the HR department of AI agents in the future.” This shows how AI will reshape the workplace, changing how businesses operate.

AI Agents as Digital Employees

As AI agents become more integrated into daily workflows, they will function as digital employees, performing tasks like data analysis and customer service to creative design and decision-making. Just as human employees require onboarding, training, and performance evaluation, AI agents will need similar oversight. This is where the IT department steps in, evolving from its traditional role of managing hardware and software to becoming the caretaker of a company’s digital workforce.

NVIDIA’s Role in Empowering AI Agents for HR Operations

Huang explained that NVIDIA is already laying the groundwork for this shift with tools like NVIDIA NeMo, a framework designed to onboard, train, and evaluate AI agents. These agents will need to learn company-specific processes, adhere to organizational guidelines, and continuously improve through feedback. The IT department will be responsible for ensuring these AI systems are aligned with business goals, secure, and efficient.

The current time calls for IT professionals to develop new skills, blending technical expertise with an understanding of AI and ML. They will need to manage AI agents’ performance, ensure ethical use, and integrate these systems seamlessly into existing workflows.

End Note

Huang’s vision highlights a future where AI agents are not just tools but active participants in the workforce. As companies embrace this shift, the IT department’s role will expand. The future of work is here, and it’s powered by intelligent, adaptable, and ever-evolving AI agents.
