Shantanu Bhattacharyya

Data Scientist at Locus.sh

Shantanu completed his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in the field of Structural & Molecular Biology under Prof. Gordon S. Rule. Then he moved to The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI)  to work on computational vaccine design against HIV.
He has been working at Locus for a little over a year now where his primary focus is the geocoding project (converting human written addresses to coordinates) and its utilisation in logistics solutions like routing and auto-sortation.
Two of his most favourite areas within artificial intelligence research are “Natural Language Processing” and “Reinforcement learning”. Outside work, he uses them to train machines excel at simple games.
